Overcoming Adversity! Surviving the stroke!
79% of people survive 2 years, 61% survive 3 years, 5% survive 16 years. Only 1% of stroke survivors survive 20 years or more. What makes that so? Is it genetics? The marvel of modern medicine? Or is it a, I will not quit mindset? "Mindset" is what I want to talk to you about today. Developing that I will not quit mindset when life hits you with an adverse condition. Whatever the situation, Divorce, Bankruptcy, a life-changing medical issue, or the loss of a close loved one.
The wind has been knocked out of you, You don't have any answers. The only question you have is, why me? This is a very difficult path to walk. I have met many people who have experienced some of the worst things imaginable and have overcome them by building that I am going to win, no matter what Mindset.
Let me tell you their story.
Working toward the greater good!
In our present conscious state of mind, we are aware of our decisions. Even though we sometimes walk around and even drive our vehicles on auto-pilot. Many times, I have driven to work or back home and didn’t remember seeing anything along the way because I was concentrating on something else. We can only live in our present and remember our past. However, there is a past that is not privileged to you to remember. At the point of conception when there were millions of possible versions of you competing to become a person. You won the race. You are special, you have a purpose for being here.
So, let’s talk about finding your purpose and working toward the greater good!
Gratitude, Attitude, and Altitude are connected!
Do you remember the red easy button that you would see on people's desks that said " That was easy". That is an acknowledgment of gratitude!

Every situation in life is not an insurmountable challenge. When you are faced with difficult issues in life, one of the first things needed is to focus on where you are presently. Being grateful for all of the small things that add up to the larger things like waking up to another day and being given the chance to face life’s challenges. That gratitude will improve you attitude and outlook. That positive attitude can be the fuel that propel you to higher heights.

Whatever happens to you in moments of challenge in your life will not negatively affect your mental outlook. Because you have elevated your altitude and cannot be shaken! Let’s talk about how to get there.

Pondering back on the many years that I was involved with the Explorer Post; I am thankful for the guidance I received from Mr. Ron Robinson. his experience as well as his dedication to helping youths to discover their full potential motivated me. He helped me to align my career goals to enter the field of Law Enforcement within the U.S. Army National Guard. Before meeting Mr. Robinson I might have been standing in the middle of what some might call a crossroads. Beyond career decisions, I feel like I am where I am today, because of Mr. Robinson. His direct impact on my life has helped me. His wisdom, insight, and motivation have inspired me to this day.

I cannot express enough gratitude for the impact that Ron Robinson has had on my life. It is undeniable that he has been an influential and motivating force, consistently pushing me past the limits I had created for myself.
At a certain point in my career, I found myself facing a roadblock. I believed that I had reached my peak and that there was no room for improvement. It was during this time I had the fortunate opportunity to speak with Mr. Robinson. He generously dedicated several hours to simply listening to me and understanding both my background and current mindset.
During our conversation, Mr. Robinson made me realize that I had placed myself inside a self-imposed box. He encouraged me to challenge myself and break free from the constraints that I had unknowingly placed upon my abilities. However, his most impactful contribution was the motivation he instilled in me to believe that I deserved more and should strive for greater achievements.
That motivational speech was a pivotal moment in my life. Since then, I have continuously pushed myself to go beyond my comfort zone and strive for excellence. With each passing day, I am amazed at the progress I have made, all thanks to the unwavering belief and support that Mr. Robinson has shown me
I am eternally grateful to Ron Robinson for his dedication and the profound impact he has had on my life. He has not only helped me overcome my self-imposed limitations but has also inspired me to reach for the extraordinary. I am now more motivated to never settle, set new goals, meet every failure head-on, and always be willing to learn.
